Training classes range from 1 to 3 days depending on the laser type and the student’s experience level.

Hands-on laser training session Training Enhance your team's skills with our specialized training programs for Diode, Fiber, and CO2 laser operation and lightburn training. We offer virtual as needed sessions and in-person onsite training.
CO2 laser in the IDX shop What’s Included This training focuses on machine operation, job setup, material settings, and production workflows using LightBurn. It does not include full artwork creation beyond the basic drawing and editing tools inside LightBurn.
Fiber laser marking metal Real-world production Our goal is to get you up and running for real-world production work in a maximum of 3 days.

LightBurn Requirement

LightBurn software is required for all training (on-site or virtual). We currently do not offer training on manufacturer-specific software platforms such as XCS, Glowforge Print, Ruby, KCAM, RDWorks, or other proprietary systems.

Daily Schedule

Each training day is a full day. Lunch is taken at 12:30 p.m. for one hour. You are not billed for the lunch break.

On-Site Training Notes

On-site sessions are a mix of computer work and hands-on laser time. Please have a suitable Windows or Mac computer available with the necessary ports, drivers, and admin rights so the laser can be connected and tested during class. We recommend confirming system compatibility with us before the training date.

Multi-day training (On-site Only)

CO2 & Fiber: 1 student is $800 per day, or $600 per person per day with 2+ students.
Diode: 1 student is $300 per day, or $200 per person per day for spousal/partner/other.

How it works

Booking & Process

Book every session online through Square. A deposit is required to book all training classes and is non-refundable.

  1. Book

    Pick your service and time online, and add your machine model, issue or training goal, plus your location for onsite visits.

  2. Payment

    Virtual sessions need a deposit or full prepay, and onsite sessions need a deposit with the balance due at completion, or you can prepay.

  3. Confirm

    We confirm your booking, session length and any onsite zone fee.

  4. Session

    Virtual sessions get a Google Meet link 15 minutes before start, and onsite visits get a confirmed arrival window.

What if the second student can’t attend?
Second student must be available for half of the class or more. Please make sure they are available and ready, or you will be charged the full rate. Requires a card on file at booking.
Student Pricing
The student discount applies when two students are booked for the same class. Both students are expected to attend the full duration of the scheduled training. If one student is unable to attend after the first day, we will refund half of the total training price. Intermittent attendance does not qualify for the discounted rate. Please confirm both students can attend the entire class before booking.
Additional Training Days
If, once we arrive, you decide you need extra days of training, we will discuss availability on the spot. If we can stay over, we will invoice the additional day(s) and add them to the schedule. If we cannot extend the visit, we will schedule the remaining training for the next available opening.
Booking, Deposits & Refunds
A deposit is required to book all training classes and is non-refundable. The remaining funds are due 24 hours before we arrive onsite. If the invoice is not paid up to one-hour of our arrival, we will give you one courtesy call. If the invoice is not paid at that time, we will send it for rescheduling at a later date.
Rescheduling
While we understand plans can change, there are no refunds for training deposits, on-site cancellations, or circumstances out of control. We do allow rescheduling to a later available date when requested with reasonable notice or in the event of a facility emergency, power loss greater than 2 hours, and any city/state weather delays or community events.
Design software
While we regularly use vector drawing software (Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, CorelDRAW, etc.) in our own daily work, those programs cannot be meaningfully taught in a single day. We will show you how to properly prepare and import artwork for engraving, but purchasing and learning any third-party design software is the student’s responsibility.
